How I Benefited from the IRGF
Growing up I have played golf off and on through the Indian River Golf Foundation, which has helped me not only to play the game, but also be a better person. Golf has taught me discipline, leadership, integrity, and resilience, to never give up on and off the course. I continue to play recreational golf with family and friends every year.
I play in the Scholarship Foundation golf tournament. IRGF also helped me to get my first job at a private golf club, where I have since been working for over 5 years part-time. I have learned all aspects of golf from cleaning the carts and bags, to playing in tournaments. I also received a college scholarship from IRGF which helped go towards my education. I am currently majoring in both Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mathematics at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL where I will graduate this December 2019.
I am grateful that Roger and his team took the time to teach me the game of golf, because it has shaped me into the young lady that I am today. Golf is a sport that I enjoy and I will be able to play for many years.
Thank you for believing in me, and providing the many opportunities that I have encountered through golf.
