TRADITIONS AND BEGINNINGS
Roger Van Dyke, President Indian River Golf Foundation
The purpose of the Indian River Golf Foundation (IRGF) is to promote interest and awareness of local golfing opportunities and to encourage participation in programs, that will lead to high levels of knowledge, player development and service in the game of golf. The Foundation builds upon traditions of the game supporting current programs conducted by area PGA and LPGA golf professionals and to establish beginnings in a wide-range of new golf experiences including education and employment opportunities. Through the IRGF Players Club, programs are designed for golfers of all ages including juniors assisted by parents, coaches, mentors and volunteers.
Through the Indian River Golf Alliance, stakeholders in the game of golf partner with the IRGF. These partners include public & private golf facilities, city & county governments, educational institutions, businesses and professional service groups.
Based out of the future Indian River Golf Training Center, It is the intention of the IRGF to make all activities affordable while expanding access to golf facilities. Through grants, donations and user fees, scholarship funds will enable young golfers to maximize their potential which would not otherwise be attained.
We strive to make it possible for young people to learn the game of golf, no matter their income level. Through our SNAG programs, we make it fun and easy to learn golf. As players progress, we provide opportunities for advancement and competition. This program over the years has helped students build lasting friendships, develop a love for the game, and develop skills and experiences that prepare them for the future. It is our pleasure to serve South Brevard and Indian River Counties in this effort to expand access and opportunities for young people to learn to play the game of golf in a positive, encouraging environment.
